Energocom's Electricity Supply Obligation Extended Until 2025

The Moldovan cabinet has approved an extension of Energocom's public service obligation to ensure the security of electricity supply. The company will continue to centrally purchase electricity until 31 December 2025, guaranteeing stable service for consumers, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES

Starting January 2025, Energocom will source electricity through bilateral contracts with suppliers and producers from Romania, Ukraine, and local renewable energy sources. This approach will ensure a reliable and efficient supply, while also preventing interconnection issues that could raise electricity prices.

The extension aims to maintain the stability of Moldova's energy sector and ensure consistent electricity access for all consumers, according to the Ministry of Energy.
