Residents of the Rahovec municipality are also facing frequent power outages. In some cases, certain areas in this municipality have been without electricity for two or three days. This was confirmed to KosovaPress by Përparim Krasniqi, the Director of Public Services in Rahovec, CE Report quotes Kosova Press.

While blaming KESCO for these reductions, Krasniqi emphasizes that the central government needs to find a quick and long-term solution for citizens. He also pointed out that recent issues with drinking water have emerged in some areas due to reliance on pump systems. Additionally, complaints have been raised by businesses.

"These reductions don’t follow a specific schedule; we don’t receive official notifications. In some areas, there have been cases of no electricity for two or three days, with frequent interruptions," Krasniqi said.

Regarding the power outages, he stressed the importance of central government intervention.

"This greatly harms residents. Outdated electrical installations and the failure to replace transformer stations have severely impacted economic development and business zones in our municipality," Krasniqi added. "The fault lies with those under contract with KESCO. The central government must sit down and provide a quick and long-term solution for citizens."

In addition to Rahovec, municipalities such as Ferizaj, Fushë Kosova, Peja, and Malisheva have also been experiencing power reductions in recent days. According to the Kosovo Electricity Distribution Company (KEDS), high electricity consumption has caused overloads in the KEDS energy distribution network in several areas across Kosovo, leading to damage in some cases. Reportedly, electricity consumption has recently reached up to 1,500 megawatt-hours.
