On Saturday, the Pamporovo mountain resort hosted the Tree in Art plein air carving event, showcasing stunning wood sculptures. The event, part of Forest Week (April 1-6), aimed to support the Children with Oncohematological Diseases Association, with proceeds from sculpture sales going to the cause, CE Report quotes BTA

Carved using chainsaws, the sculptures were created by artists from various fields. Dr. Svetozar Marangozov, a vascular surgeon, crafted a boar from a tree trunk. A hobbyist woodcarver for 12 years, he believes in the importance of stepping away from daily routines to recharge.

Velin Chaushev, a renowned carver from the Rhodope Mountains, also participated, sharing his experience of creating hundreds of sculptures. He noted the challenge of sourcing large enough trees for his works, which require substantial logs.

The event combined art and charity, bringing attention to both the beauty of nature and a worthy cause.
