Mayor Daniel Tomuta announced the completion of the restoration, which began in 2021. The 1,879-square-meter building features a conference hall named after benefactor Margareta Bibics and spaces for music and dance classes, creative workshops, and school clubs.
The new museums will focus on local history, showcasing archaeological finds from the area, and ethnography, preserving traditional culture.
Originally a gymnasium school for the nobility’s children, the building also served as a tax collection center for Vienna during the 18th century. Over the years, it endured a fire, multiple reconstructions, and various roles, including a community club during the communist era and an Orthodox church after 1990.
The Urbarial House is now part of the cultural circuit, celebrating Santana's rich history and heritage.
