The National Library of Moldova marked the Year of Mihai Eminescu with the launch of the 2025 edition of the National Calendar. This encyclopedic publication highlights significant figures in science, culture, and art from Moldova, the broader Romanian region, and global history, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES

Elena Pintilei, director of the National Library, emphasized the special significance of this year’s calendar, designed as part of the jubilee celebration of Mihai Eminescu. "The work reflects the Year of Mihai Eminescu, featuring thematic cover art, detailed articles with selective bibliographies, and a focus on valuable contributions," she stated.

Spanning 544 pages, the calendar includes 660 notable dates, covering over 600 national and international events, holidays, and anniversaries for 2025. Key highlights include the 560th anniversary of Stephen the Great's conquest of the Chilia Fortress, 80 years since the end of World War II, and 30 years since the student strike in Chișinău.

Academy of Sciences President Ion Tighineanu praised the publication as a "mirror of national and cultural identity," underscoring its role as a foundation for scholarly research and cultural events throughout the year.

The National Calendar remains a valuable resource for state institutions, diplomatic missions, researchers, and cultural organizations, reinforcing Moldova's commitment to preserving and celebrating its heritage.
