The Planetarium in Smolyan has launched an exhibition titled The Colours of the Universe, showcasing original space photography by Mihail Mamchurov, an amateur astronomer and astrophotographer from Varna. The display, which opened on Saturday, features 22 stunning images of planets, moons, comets, nebulae, and galaxies, all captured by Mamchurov’s lens, CE Report quotes BTA

Tsvetelina Gencheva, Director of the Planetarium, shared her inspiration for the exhibition: “When I saw Mihail’s work, I knew the Planetarium was the perfect place to display these breathtaking astronomical images.”

Each photo is accompanied by detailed notes, including the object’s location in space, its distance from Earth, observation details, and a QR code linking to Mamchurov’s website.

Plans are underway to expand the exhibition into a permanent display, offering visitors even more captivating views of the universe.
