The exhibition "Ancient Thrace and the Classical World: Treasures from Bulgaria, Romania, and Greece" at the Getty Museum in Los Angeles remains secure despite fires in the area, according to Bulgaria's Ministry of Culture. Precautionary measures, including potential relocation of the insured collection to a vault, have been implemented to ensure the safety of the artifacts, CE Report quotes BTA

The museum's management reassured Bulgarian authorities that its state-of-the-art air handling system is isolating galleries and archives from smoke, and the double-walled construction of the galleries offers additional protection. The Ministry confirmed there is no immediate threat to the exhibits or the building.

Culture Minister Nayden Todorov has formally requested that the Bulgarian artifacts, including the renowned Panagyurishte gold treasure, be stored in a safe location if necessary.

The exhibition, which opened in November 2023 and runs until March 3, 2025, highlights cultural exchanges between the Thracians and their neighbors over two millennia. It features over 200 artifacts, including intricate gold, silver, and bronze metalwork, ceramics, inscriptions, and stone reliefs, offering insights into Thracian connections with Mediterranean civilizations.
