Hollywood legends DiCaprio and Scorsese send film buffs wild after revealing how they were inspired by Polish legends Wajda and Cybulski
Polish film buffs have been left thrilled after Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio cited Andrzej Wajda’s classic Ashes and Diamonds as one of their core inspirations for the Oscar-winning film The Departed. CE Report quoting The First News
Talking to Letterboxd, the Hollywood legends were asked to “recall the hard-boiled noir and fast-talkin’ film influences that have fed the six features they’ve made together so far.”
On the subject of The Departed five minutes into the video, DiCaprio credited the director for urging him to first watch Wajda’s 1958 wartime drama to see Zbigniew Cybulski in one of his best-known roles.
