Croatia celebrates 20 years of aerial brilliance
The 20th anniversary of the establishment of the "Wings of Storm" Air Force Aerobatic Team marked its 20th anniversary at a ceremony at the military barracks "Pukovnik Mirko Vukušić" at Zemunik Donji in the hinterland of Zadar.
Addressing the ceremony, Defence Minister Ivan Anušić congratulated the aerobatics display team on this anniversary, CE Report quotes HINA.
This Air Force Aerobatic Team demonstrates its skills and expertise in flying for years, he stressed.
"They are recognisable wherever they go and receive nothing but praise. They represent Croatia across Europe and the world, as well as the Croatian Air Force. They are the most valuable asset of the HRZ," said the minister.
In addition to the Wings of Storm, he added, we will also see the Rafale fighter jets, as well as helicopters.
The attractive flying programme, which opened with parachute jumps by members of the Special Forces Command from Air Force helicopters, includes a performance by the Wings of Storm, flyovers by the multi-role Rafale fighter jet, the Mi-171 SH transport helicopter, the OH-58D Kiowa Warrior reconnaissance combat helicopter, the Bell-206B Jet Ranger III training helicopter, the ZLIN-242 L training aircraft, the CL-415 Canadair fire-fighting plane, and the AT-802 Air Tractor fire-fighting plane.
