Croatia pledges support for Bosnia’s European path

Leaders in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) recognize the importance of seizing this moment to accelerate reforms and align with EU standards. The Instrument for Growth and Reforms aims to provide financial and technical support to candidate countries, addressing key areas such as governance, rule of law, economic development, and environmental sustainability, CE Report quotes FENA.

The European Commission has emphasized that BiH's progress will depend on the unity and commitment of all political actors. Resolving internal divisions, implementing judicial reforms, and strengthening institutional capacities are seen as critical steps for BiH to advance on its European path.

Croatia, a neighboring EU member, has reaffirmed its support for BiH, pledging to provide expertise and advocacy within the EU framework. Croatian officials highlighted the importance of regional cooperation and stability, urging BiH's leaders to work collaboratively toward shared goals.

Despite the challenges, public sentiment in BiH remains hopeful. Recent surveys indicate strong support for EU membership among citizens, with many viewing it as a pathway to improved governance, economic opportunities, and greater integration into the European community.

As the EU prepares for a potential enlargement, the focus will remain on BiH's ability to implement reforms and demonstrate its commitment to the values and principles of the Union.
