Milan implements public smoking ban
Aban on smoking in open public spaces in Milan, approved by the city council in 2020, will come into force as of New Year's Day, CE Report quotes ANSA.
The move is part of a drive to combat air pollution and encourage people to make healthy lifestyle choices.
The city had already banned smoking at some open spaces, such as bus-stops, but this has now been extended to all public areas, such as streets, parks and sporting facilities, unless it is possible to maintain a distance of at least 10 metes between people.
The ban does not apply to electronic cigarettes.
