Italy sees sharpest retail sales drop

Istat said that Italian retail sales were down by 1.5% in value and 2.5% in volume in February compared to the same month last year.

The national statistics agency said this fall was the largest registered in the last 10 months, both in value and volume terms, and regarded both food and non-food sales, CE Report quotes ANSA.

It said its seasonally adjusted retail-sales index increased by 0.1% in value terms and remained unchanged in volume terms in February compared to January.
