The Finance Ministry forecasts a budget deficit of BGN 1.9 billion (0.9% of GDP) by the end of March 2025, based on preliminary data. The 2025 State Budget Bill has set the annual deficit target at BGN 6.4 billion, CE Report quotes BTA

Revenues from taxes and other sources in Q1 2025 are expected to reach BGN 16.8 billion, reflecting a 6.8% increase compared to the same period last year. This growth is largely driven by a 14.2% rise in tax revenues. However, expenditures in February and March outpaced revenues due to higher social and health insurance payments, increased spending on personnel, and capital projects.

Detailed fiscal reports will be released by the Ministry of Finance at the end of April 2025.
