Moldova's EFTA Trade Deal Now Active

Business

Moldovan entrepreneurs can now export goods duty-free or at reduced rates to all EFTA member states (Norway, Iceland, Switzerland, and Liechtenstein). Starting today, the Free Trade Agreement with EFTA countries is fully operational, opening new opportunities for businesses in some of the world’s most prosperous markets, with over 15 million potential consumers, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES

The Ministry of Economic Development and Digitization highlighted that the agreement will boost exports and attract investments, helping expand Moldova's presence in EFTA markets. Key products with high export potential include wine, spirits, fresh fruits, natural honey, sunflower oil, and textiles.

The historic agreement was signed in June 2023 and ratified by all parties over the following two years.
