
Moldova’s Exports to the EU Rise in 2024
In 2024, Moldova’s exports to the European Union accounted for 67.3% of total exports, increasing by 1.9 percentage points from the previous year, reaching $2.39 billion, according to the National Statistics Bureau (BNS), CE Report quotes MOLDPRES
Meanwhile, exports to the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) fell by 19.9% to $241.6 million, representing 6.8% of total exports, a decline of 0.6 percentage points from 2023.
Romania remained Moldova’s top export destination (32.6%), followed by Ukraine (9.3%), Italy (6.7%), and other key partners such as Germany, Poland, Russia, and the U.S. These countries collectively accounted for 86.4% of exports.
Major export categories in 2024 included electrical machinery, fruits and vegetables, oleaginous seeds, cereals, clothing, and beverages.
