Greece to Launch First Satellites in 2025, Says Digital Governance Minister

Greece is set to launch its first microsatellites in late 2025 as part of a national strategy to enhance digital governance, Minister of Digital Governance Dimitris Papastergiou announced at the Innovent Forum in Larissa, CE Report quotes Athens-Macedonian

The satellites will provide precise data for various applications, including natural disaster monitoring, agricultural management, water quality assessment, land use planning, and urban development. Papastergiou emphasized that this initiative is a significant step toward modernizing Greece’s digital infrastructure.

He also highlighted ongoing efforts to digitize public services, citing the national cadaster as a key example of technological progress in reducing bureaucracy.
