The office will develop public policy proposals, promote horticultural products in domestic and export markets, assess production potential, manage plantation creation and removal, and attract funding for development projects. It will also oversee the horticultural record.
The law covers subsectors such as nut trees, fruit-bearing shrubs, vegetables, mushrooms, and medicinal plants. It regulates plantation management, market placement, and the formation of producer associations.
