Teachers’ Salaries Begin Transfer Starting January 20, Finance Ministry Confirms

The Finance Ministry has announced that salary transfers for teachers across Moldova commenced on January 20, 2025. Local authorities were informed of this schedule last week, the ministry stated, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES

In response to recent remarks by Chisinau’s general mayor, Ion Ceban, the ministry clarified that financial officials had been briefed in advance and criticized Ceban for making political statements instead of informing the concerned institutions about the transfer timeline.

The ministry emphasized that salary payments for all public sector employees, including teachers, are being prioritized through the State Treasury.

To date, the State Treasury has allocated 816.5 million lei for teacher salaries nationwide, including 215.5 million lei directed to Chisinau City Hall.

Despite this, the capital’s mayor expressed dissatisfaction today, highlighting delays in salary payments to Chisinau’s teachers.
