AADE Governor Highlights Digital Tax Innovations at OECD Summit

Pitsilis highlighted key initiatives by AADE, including:
- MyDATA: A platform where nearly all Greek businesses have declared transactions totaling €3.5 trillion over four years.
- POS-Cash Register Integration: Linking point-of-sale systems with cash registers.
- Mandatory Digital Invoicing: Enforcing the use of digital invoices for transparency.
- Digitized Delivery Notes: Monitoring all transported goods within Greece.
- Automated Tax Returns: Pre-filling over 15 million VAT and income tax returns with real-time data as of December 2022.
These advancements have significantly reduced Greece's VAT gap from 30% in 2017 to 13.7% in 2022. Pitsilis noted the adoption of a "compliance by design" strategy, enabling proactive compliance, predictive analysis, and targeted controls, aligning with OECD's Tax Administration 3.0 principles.
