Greek Finance Ministry Outlines Key 2025 Goals

Economy and Finance Minister Kostis Hatzidakis shared his ministry's key priorities for 2025 in a TikTok post on Tuesday, under the title, "In 2025, we are implementing our five key commitments." Here are the main highlights:

Fiscal Responsibility: The ministry plans to save millions of euros for taxpayers through prudent financial management, enabling cheaper borrowing.

Crackdown on Tax Evasion: Efforts to curb tax evasion will intensify with digital tools, including the Digital Customer List, Digital Waybill, Electronic Invoices, and the extension of the myDATA platform.

Boosting Competitiveness and Growth: Social insurance contributions will be reduced by an additional percentage point. Resources from the NSRF and the Recovery Fund will be utilized to drive growth. A new law on the Capital Market is also planned to support the Greek Stock Exchange.

State-Owned Real Estate: Accelerating the utilization of state-owned real estate, including the concession of small regional airports, modeled after the successful management of larger airports, CE Report quotes Athens-Macedonian

Strengthening Social Policies: The minimum wage and pensions will see further increases. Health sector funding will rise significantly, with a 75% increase compared to 2019, and the renovation of numerous hospitals and health centers across Greece funded by the Recovery Fund.

The minister emphasized the importance of turning commitments into action to ensure a successful year.
