Moldova's Energy Consumption Fully Covered Without Emergency Contracts

In the past 24 hours, Moldova consumed 14,359,731 kWh of electricity, fully covered through commercial contracts without activating emergency agreements, according to Moldelectrica, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES

Electricity needs were met through a mix of domestic production and imports. Kuchurgan Power Station (MGRES) supplied 50.62%, Termoelectrica 20.69%, CET-Nord 4%, Costești Hydro 0.38%, renewable energy 2.14%, and co-generation plants at sugar mills 0.3%. Imports from Moldova, Ukraine, and Romania accounted for 21.87%.

Energocom announced that in January 2025, Moldova’s energy consumption on the right bank of the Dniester will be covered by local production and imports from Romania. Heating plants in Chișinău and Bălți will contribute 28%, renewable energy will cover 10%, and the remaining 62% will be imported from Romania.
