E-commerce plays a vital role in the economy, driving courier traffic, logistics, fulfillment, and online marketing. According to official statistics, 72.9% of Romanian internet users made online purchases in 2024, with significant growth in rural areas, where online buyers increased to 67.3%.

Popular product categories include clothing and accessories (78.6%), restaurant deliveries (36.4%), cosmetics (34.5%), and household appliances (15.8%).
