U.S. to Donate Digital System for Strategic Goods Control to Moldova

Business

The control of export and import of strategic goods in Moldova is set to be digitalized with the introduction of the Stratlink electronic authorization system. The system will be donated by the U.S. Department of State to Moldova’s Public Services Agency (ASP), CE Report quotes MOLDPRES

This development follows the approval by Moldova’s parliamentary commission for foreign policy and European integration of an agreement facilitating the system's implementation.

The Stratlink system aims to prevent illegal transfers of sensitive assets and technologies while regulating exports, re-exports, transit, and the licensing of goods passing through Moldova.

Valued at nearly $30,000, the system's internal transport and setup costs will be covered by the Moldovan government, while expenses for the finished product will be funded by the EXBS program of the U.S. Embassy in Chisinau.

Currently, Moldova relies on a single system for such authorizations, managed exclusively by the Public Services Agency. The new system is expected to significantly enhance efficiency and security in managing strategic goods.
