Moldova attends UN Climate Change Conference (COP29)

Moldova's Energy Ministry delegation, led by Minister Victor Parlicov is participating in UN Climate Change Conference (COP29) in Baku on November 11-22. During the event, which brings together representatives from 197 countries, the Memorandum of Understanding between the Republic of Moldova and Bulgaria on cooperation in the security of energy supply will be signed. Victor Parlicov will also hold bilateral meetings, including with his Azerbaijani counterpart, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES

This year's COP meeting focuses on green finance and the creation of a new fund, financed by fossil fuel producers, companies and countries, to benefit countries affected by climate change. The event aims to accelerate implementation of the Paris Agreement, with a focus on raising global ambitions, ensuring climate justice and promoting sustainable development.
