Bulgaria Denies Ammo Export to Sudan

Bulgaria

The Bulgarian Ministry of Economy and Industry stated Thursday that no export license was issued for ammunition made by Ruse-based company Dunarit to Sudan, countering claims by France 24 that Bulgarian arms were found in the embargoed country, CE Report quotes BTA

Dunarit responded by confirming it had cooperated with French reporters and provided documentation showing the ammunition was legally exported to the UAE as the end user.

The Ministry said a review confirmed the shipment complied with international regulations and that Bulgaria conducts thorough checks to ensure defense exports do not breach embargoes or sanctions.

As a long-time arms exporter, Bulgaria emphasized its commitment to international export controls and global security obligations.
