Mitov Rejects Political Use of Police
Bulgarian Interior Minister Daniel Mitov stated Monday that the Interior Ministry will not be used for political purposes, following a police operation on April 12 at a property in Sofia's Boyana district. Officers acted on alerts from a political party and the property owner, without ministerial instruction, Mitov said, CE Report quotes BTA
The incident involved members of the DRF-MRF youth wing, who say they were invited by party founder Ahmed Dogan. The property’s ownership is disputed between Dogan and Delta Epsilon, represented by former minister Danail Papazov. The clash reflects ongoing tensions within the Movement for Rights and Freedoms, which split in 2024 between Dogan and rival leader Delyan Peevski.
