Opposition Plans No-Confidence Motion Over Corruption

Bulgaria

Ivelin Mihaylov, the leader of Velichie, told Bulgarian National Television on Saturday that several parties, including Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria (CC-DB), Vazrazhdane, Democracy, Rights and Freedoms (DRF), and Morality, Unity, Honour (MECh), are united in opposition to the current government, CE Report quotes BTA

Mihaylov revealed that MECh plans to submit a no-confidence motion targeting the government's handling of corruption within the coming week, urging parliamentary support for the motion.

He criticized the government's failure to address illegal landfills, pointing out that his party has raised concerns about this issue for the past four months. "Failing to perform an elementary duty means you cannot govern," he added.

Earlier this week, the government of Rosen Zhelyazkov survived a no-confidence vote regarding its foreign policy on April 3, which was submitted by Vazrazhdane with backing from Velichie and MECh.
