After the Continue the Change – Democratic Bulgaria (CC-DB) parliamentary group walked out of Wednesday's National Assembly debate, signaling their intent to stay out of the no-confidence vote, Toma Bikov, MP of GERB-UDF, called for their return to vote against the motion. Bikov warned that the motion, proposed by the Vazrazhdane group, aims to hinder Bulgaria's full integration into the EU and could even threaten its membership, CE Report quotes BTA
Bikov emphasized the need for foreign policy decisions to be based on broad consensus, highlighting the risks of Bulgaria's European future. He criticized CC-DB's absence, claiming it damages their political identity and alienates their pro-European electorate.
Bikov also pointed to growing opposition within Bulgaria towards EU membership, suggesting that it might be time to reconsider the country's place in the union. He argued that those in favor of Bulgaria's European path must unite to safeguard the nation's future in the EU.
