
Bulgarian Parliament Extends Water Crisis Committee's Term by Three Months
The Bulgarian Parliament unanimously voted, with 208 MPs in favor, to extend the term of the ad-hoc committee investigating the country’s water crisis by three months. The extension will allow the committee to gather more information from relevant institutions, analyze the data, and finalize its report, CE Report quotes BTA
The committee was established on December 11 at the initiative of MPs from Continue the Change – Democratic Bulgaria, with Environment and Water Minister Manol Genov serving as chairman.
During the nearly two-hour debate, lawmakers discussed issues such as water composition, its treatment as a national resource, and the need for specific infrastructure solutions to address regional water shortages.
