Tolerance March to Honor Holocaust Victims and Bulgarian Jews' Rescue

A march of tolerance, marking the 82nd anniversary of the rescue of Bulgarian Jews and commemorating Holocaust victims, will take place this Sunday, according to the Organization of Jews in Bulgaria Shalom and the Federation of Zionists in Bulgaria. The event, titled "We Remember," will be attended by Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov, CE Report quotes BTA

In 2023, BTA partnered with the Jewish-Bulgarian Cooperation Centre Alef to publish a special LIK magazine edition on the 80th anniversary of the rescue. According to Yad Vashem, Bulgaria remains the only country where no Jews were deported to Nazi death camps, despite a Jewish population of around 50,000 at the time.
