Bulgaria Confirms Progress Toward Eurozone Membership

Bulgarian Finance Minister Temenuzhka Petkova reaffirmed the country's commitment to adopting the euro by January 1, 2026, during a Eurogroup meeting on Monday, the Finance Ministry announced, CE Report quotes BTA

Petkova highlighted Bulgaria's prudent fiscal policies and stated that preliminary assessments show the country is on track to meet all convergence criteria. She also confirmed that Bulgaria will request extraordinary Convergence Reports from the European Commission and the European Central Bank by February 2025.

Eurogroup members expressed their continued support for Bulgaria’s eurozone ambitions, according to the Ministry’s statement.
