
Bulgarian and Romanian Foreign Ministers Discuss Cooperation at Munich Security Conference
Bulgarian Foreign Minister Georg Georgiev and Romanian Foreign Minister Emil Hurezeanu held talks during the Munich Security Conference, the Bulgarian Foreign Ministry announced on Friday. Georgiev emphasized Bulgaria’s strong relations with Romania, highlighting their successful joint accession to the Schengen Area, CE Report quotes BTA
The discussions focused on cross-border cooperation projects, economic ties, and ongoing efforts to strengthen bilateral relations. Georgiev reaffirmed that Romania remains one of Bulgaria’s key economic partners, and both countries aim to expand their trade and investment collaboration.
The ministers also addressed their continued support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and Moldova’s European integration. They reaffirmed their commitment to NATO and EU cooperation, particularly in enhancing security in the Black Sea region.
Additionally, Georgiev met with British Conservative MP Priti Patel, who reiterated the UK opposition party’s commitment to maintaining strong ties with Bulgaria. The two countries had signed a Joint Declaration on Strategic Partnership in London in October 2023.
