President Radev Hosts Annual Diplomatic Reception in Bulgaria
Bulgarian President Rumen Radev welcomed ambassadors to the annual diplomatic reception at the National History Museum in Sofia. Radev expressed gratitude to foreign partners who aided in the release of the crew of the hijacked Galaxy Leader, including two Bulgarian sailors. He personally thanked the leaders of Qatar, Jordan, Egypt, the U.S., the UAE, Palestine, Iran, and Israel for their efforts. Additionally, he acknowledged support in securing the release of Bulgarian national Daniela Gilboa from Hamas' captivity and called for the safe return of Matan Angrest.
The President hailed Bulgaria’s Schengen accession as a major success, emphasizing its benefits for the EU's Single Market. He reaffirmed NATO's role in European security as Bulgaria marked 20 years in the alliance.
Looking ahead to 2025, Radev expressed hope for greater diplomatic efforts to promote peace, stability, and economic progress worldwide.
