Talks on Forming Government Majority Continue in Bulgaria
Negotiations to form a parliamentary majority supporting a first-term government, led by GERB-UDF, will continue on Tuesday. This follows Monday’s discussions with Democratic Bulgaria (DB), where DB presented proposals for a "sanitary cordon" around the Movement for Rights and Freedoms - New Beginning. Talks focused on integrating DB's measures into the legislative program and a potential coalition agreement, as well as forming a stable, anti-corruption, pro-European government, CE Report quotes BTA
GERB-UDF will also meet with BSP - United Left and There Is Such a People (TISP) before December 20. Key topics include budget consolidation, judicial reform, and anti-corruption measures.
BSP's Atanas Zafirov confirmed talks with GERB-UDF are set for Tuesday, while TISP awaits an official invitation for their meeting.
President Rumen Radev suggested on Monday that the process of handing a government-formation mandate may be delayed until after the New Year due to the upcoming holidays.
