Electronic Governance Minister: Geographic Information Systems Make State Management More Efficient
The Ministry of Electronic Governance supports all government administration structures that want to implement and develop Geographic Information Systems (GIS) because they make state management more efficient and transparent, caretaker Electronic Governance Minister Valentin Mundrov said here on Wednesday. He attended the opening of a conference on geospatial technologies in the country, organized by Esri Bulgaria in collaboration with over 50 business, academic, non-governmental and media organizations, CE Report quotes BTA
According to Mundrov, GIS is becoming indispensable in the public and private sectors to solve key tasks for sustainable development, sustainable resources, urban planning and disaster management. "Increasingly, new innovative GIS are being deployed in Bulgaria that involve the application of cutting-edge IT trends such as the Internet of Things, artificial intelligence, access to satellite information and mobile applications," he noted.
