The leader of the Democratic Party (PD), Sali Berisha, presented in Kavaja the candidates of the “PD – Alliance for a Great Albania” coalition. During his speech, Berisha said that this program is for every Albanian, not just for one party, CE Report quotes ATA.

"It is a program of a true mission to pull Albania out of this spiral, out of these labyrinths that are destroying it more and more every day," Berisha said.

The PD leader stated that the meeting was also attended by the Vice President of the Centrist Democrat International, Elmar Brok, who, according to Berisha, “has supported the Democratic Party and Albanian democracy at critical moments.”

"I am honored and pleased to be here today with the esteemed Antonio López-Istúriz White, Executive Secretary of the Centrist Democrat International and Member of the European Parliament. Antonio López-Istúriz White is a great, distinguished, and long-standing friend of the PD. His presence here today, just like in 2005, heralds our victory on May 11," he continued.

Berisha said that "every day, every hour, more and more Albanians are embracing the PD program, the program that guarantees Albanians a new opportunity for every citizen."

"A program that guarantees citizens that extreme poverty will be eradicated within the first 100 days in Albania. That there will be no pensions under 200 euros, no social assistance under 200 euros, no student scholarships under 200 euros. There will be no minimum wage under 500 euros, the price of electricity for citizens will be reduced to 7 lek, water tariffs will be halved, and a consumer card will be given to all pensioners and wage earners," Berisha stated, emphasizing that entrepreneurs in Kavaja and across Albania — small, medium, and large businesses — are promised the halving of taxes, the reduction of electricity prices from 18 lek to 6 lek, the halving of water tariffs, and relief from inspections and fines, which are solemn commitments of the PD.

The PD leader added that "two weeks separate us from the day of victory, the day of triumph. I am coming from a two-day tour in the south, and everywhere — in the city squares, on the beaches, and in the villages — the wind of victory, the wind of triumph was blowing."
