Stunning upgrade for Albania's Tirana-Durrës highway
The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure and Energy of Albania, Belinda Balluku, has published images showing what the Tirana-Durrës highway will look like upon completion of the ongoing works, CE Report quotes ATA.
In a social media post, Balluku stated alongside the images:
“This is the view that the Tirana–Durrës expressway will have once the expansion works are completed.”
The minister emphasized that this road segment will meet European road safety standards and will include all other elements of urban infrastructure, such as lighting and greenery.
The expansion of this key route, which connects the capital with Durrës and handles a high volume of traffic throughout the year, includes the addition of two more lanes, bringing the entire road up to Category A standards.
With the increase to four lanes, vehicles will be able to travel at speeds of up to 130 km/h, and the project is expected to significantly ease road traffic, especially during the tourist season.
