Tirana to launch app for teaching Albanian language to diaspora children
Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama announced that he will soon introduce an application for teaching the Albanian language to children in the diaspora.
In his speech at the meeting with Albanians in Athens, Greece, Rama said that "we have begun the process of teaching the Albanian language with the first 50 teachers for children, CE Report quotes Kosova Press.
"Thanks to a collaboration with some very talented young people, we have a platform ready that we will present in the coming weeks, which is an application like Facebook, Google, like other applications, that all parents who have young children will be able to download," he said.
"This is an application to learn the Albanian language and history, and I believe it will be a great help for parents. It will not replace school or classes, but it will be a great help," said Rama.
Rama said that "with the entry into the EU, there is a program dedicated to classes in the native language of Europeans living in other countries."
"In this respect too, I am convinced that joining the EU will be a new space for massively teaching the Albanian language to children whose parents want to teach them the Albanian language," he said.
