
US-Albanian forces transform soccer field for drone training
The United States Embassy in Tirana announced today, through a post on social media, that the soccer field in Zall-Herr was turned into a drone runway, while soldiers and airmen of the New Jersey National Guard trained alongside the Albanian Armed Forces.
According to the embassy, these drones are not only used for military purposes, but can also help monitor and control wildfires. US Chargé d'Affaires Van Horn observed teams working together, piloting drones and training with the mortar company of the Albanian Armed Forces, CE Report quotes Kosova Press.
“Today, the Zall-Herr soccer field was transformed into a drone runway as New Jersey National Guard soldiers and airmen trained alongside the Albanian Armed Forces. Used for more than just military purposes, these drones can help monitor and control wildfires. Charge d’Affaires Van Horn observed our teams working side by side piloting drones and training with the Albanian Armed Forces mortar company,” the US Embassy in Tirana wrote, according to the statement.
