Rama: TikTok is a serious source of risk to the security of Albania
The Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama, in conference, mentioned the decision of the Albanian Government to ban the social network TikTok in Albania, stating that it represents a serious source of risk to the country's security and the safety of children, CE Report quotes Kosova Press.
However, Rama told the media that even more dangerous is the swamp of slander and lies in politics.
"TikTok is a serious source of risk to the security of our country and our children, but even more dangerous than the influx of TikTok's content on mobile screens is the swamp of slander, lies, accusations, insults, and political and media disputes. These rival the neighborhood brawls, where the youngest and most vulnerable members of our society are the most easily affected by the low culture this swamp injects into people. The government will shut TikTok's door in Albania for at least one year. Meanwhile, you all must shut the doors to this swamp, starting with the next parliament," he said.
Rama made these comments in response to personal criticisms against him and his family by leaders of the Democratic Party. He noted that he has been called schizophrenic, homosexual, bisexual, the owner of 200 houses, a woman abuser, and even accused of mistreating his mother. However, he added that none of these accusations hold any truth.
